Originally built as a race clearance frame and used by the Mercian Pro Team as far back as 1967 giving this frame a racing pedigree. The Professional model has since developed to make a very rigid racing / touring frame, ideal for heavier riders or those who prefer extra stiffness.
The bottom bracket lug is unique. The 3inch long spearpoints are welded to the shell and then the tubes are brazed into position, thus adding rigidity to the frame, as well as a distinctive appearance.
The Professional is ideal either as a tourer, or with / without mudguard clearance for a stiff and responsive road / track frame.
